The getaway last [year] was truly amazing. Here are a few highlights from my experience:
Location: The setting was peaceful, secluded, and breathtaking, overlooking a beautiful lake. It was nature at its finest—a perfect place to rest, clear your mind, enjoy worship and fellowship with like-minded individuals.
Food: There was a wonderful variety of delicious food. From the continental breakfast to the hot lunch and supper, everything was tasty. Highlights included the roti, fry bakes, vegetarian dishes, desserts, and the best bread ever.
Activities: There were so many things to do, including workshops and games like volleyball, basketball, corn hole, and cards. I had a wonderful time on the nature trails and spent the entire trip laughing.
Fellowship: I loved meeting so many genuine people. We had great conversations and enjoyed eating, singing, and laughing together.
I would highly encourage anyone to experience the getaway with the Chitans. It is the perfect vacation to unwind, and I didn't want to leave.
I am looking forward to returning this year and meeting new friends. -
When I went to the Chitans’ Summer Getaway last Summer 2025, I had an experience I never expected and would never forget. My flight from the east coast to Indiana for the Getaway was definitely worth it! In those 3 days of the event, I enjoyed eating good food, sleeping in comfortable, clean cabins with new friends, and had the opportunity to take in fresh air and the bright, beautiful scenery. But much more than that, I met and made friends with other Christian young people like me (and older too) that I felt I could be myself around, something I deeply appreciated. I especially remember how meal times brought everyone together as we ate and chatted. I like how the Chitans nicely combined spiritual growth with music, clean fun, and genuine laughter. My trip to the Getaway was an answer to my personal prayer, and I am thankful for this experience. I hope to go again!
